Can anyone help me to identify the spouse and family of Ada King, born in about 1903 in Westhampnett, Chichester, Sussex. Her brother was John King, born in c1910 Westhampnett. Their parents were John George King and Fanny Bridger. Thank you.

Freebmd site shows too many possibilities for an Ada KING marriage.

If you know of any children, you could work backwards or if you know the family stayed in the area, that might help too.

Do you know that she did marry?

Thanks Gwyn. I know very little about her apart from what I have posted. I know her brother's family as that is my family line. Ada would be my Great Aunt.

Because of her DOB and the aftermath of WW1 how sure are you that she did marry?

Maybe she signed as a witness at a family event.
I have found spouse's surnames that way.

No photos tucked away that could be her?......
No cousins known....?

Like you, I'd want to research her, so I hope you are able to find out more.
If the family stayed in the same village, it might be worth going to Chichester record office and trawling through marriage registers.

EDIT
Ah...I see they went to Bishop's Waltham so any records for that small town will be in Winchester Record Office.

If you get the birth certificate for exact date of birth, you may be able to trace her that way

There is this Hampshire marriage, where the bride has just one forename, unlike many which have middle names.....

Marriages Dec 1931

Alexander Alfred J ...King .. N.Forest 2b 1901
King Ada ...Alexander ..N.Forest 2b 1901

You could look on Search Trees and see if anyone has the Alfred Alexander in their tree and possibly confirm a match, ...or not.

It will be a costly and frustrating effort to guess at the marriage otherwise.

Fanny Bridger born 1868 married Thomas Edward Halstead 1888

1901 Eastergate D3 > 6
she is with parents and her children including Herbert Halstead age 2 and John King born 1869 a shepard.

So it looks as though the 1902 marriage is correct.
