Hi, can anyone please give me some advice. My wife was adopted at birth. Is there any way of adding her birth mothers family into my tree or would I have to start another account. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi

Thats a tricky one.

Does everyone invloved know about the adoption? If so I dont see why not, maybe make your tree private so others cant see it?

I suppose you could do it (although not technically correctly) by having yourself as married to two people at the same time - your wife in her adopted name and your wife in her birth name. That way you could trace both of your wife's families back in the same tree, if that is what she wants to do. I think that would work :)

Otherwise you could start a seperate tree for each, but then you would have to decide if you wanted to pay for another subsciption; if people wanted to give you access to their trees, you could only view them if you had a subscription on that particular account.

edit: colin beat me to it :-)

Thanks one and all for your valuable information. I think the married twice option would be my easiest and cheapest option. Thanks again.
