Member Since: May 2008 Posts: 13 Send Message	I am trying to find any family members that may have been sent out to Australia on a convict ship. I have traced my family back to William Hand,1794,Cambridgeshire,UK. How or where do I look for this info? Regards Barb

	Ancestry has this database which might help: England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892 Another excellent site for Australian genealogy is: www.ballaratgenealogy.org.au
	Researching: Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

	Hi Barbra. My convict references tells me there were 25 HAND ( convict ) surnames sent to Australian Colony between 1789 ( 2nd fleet ) to 1852 from the U.K The earliest was a William HAND convicted at Wiltshire assizes Dec. 1789 and sent to NSW colony for 7 years.
