Find Ancestors

i have just recieved a marriiage cert for my parents, wyndham lewis + e. g. whitehead 1955 barnstable devon. i am trying to find dad's ancestry, he was 32yrs when he was married. he died around 1964 which would have made him 40 - 41 cannot find anything about his death. also his dad's name is david lewis and has connections with aberystwyth. i've looked up his dad which seems promising but he is married to another david lewis. it would be great if any body could help.

Could Wyndham have been a second name, but used as first on his marriage certificate?
And do you know where he died?
