Lucas Family - Barbados

I am trying to find information about the ascendants on the paternal side of my family which, at present, is a bit sketchy. My father's name is Harold Lucas. He was born in Barbados in 1940. His brother's name is Ellis. Both came to the UK in the late 1950s/early 1960s and served in the RAF. That's about as much as I know. Can anybody help? I look forward to hearing from you.

Did your father or his brother marry in the UK? If so, they should have named their father on their marriage certificates (if they knew the name, which many people didn't, for one reason or another).

Is your father or his brother not living now? If they are, the place to start is to ask them questions. They should be able to tell you their parents' names and some idea of their background.

Before putting any more info about them here, if they are living, be sure to have their consent.


edit - or am I missing the point, and you aren't in touch with your father?

Are you already in touch with the people who have Harold Lucas 1940 and Ellis Lucas in their trees here at GR?

The Search Trees button up at the top; too many new members don't use that resource, so it's something others of us usually ask.

Just search for surname Lucas born in Barbados.
