He was born in Kinderton Cum Hulme, Middlewich, Cheshire.

He had a sister called Ann and a brother William

EDIT - I think the Wilkinsons are a separate household in the same house and have just been transcribed with the Woodbines by mistake, although they seem to be the same family that John and William are lodging with in 1851 (mistranscribed as Mlkinson)

Edit - I think Ann was a Wilkinson, therefore the Wilkinsons are her family.
