1841/1851 census look up please - Lancashire-Mort

on lan-opc.org.uk under the parish of Atherton

could not find them in Atherton on 1841 on same source

thomas seems to have had brother John in 1841 - who was his father? Was Thomas still alive in 1840 or was he fathered by someone else

Need to digest what is here most looks to be 1841 census.
From what i see it would seem that Thomas mort's father died soon after Thomas was born mmm
LancashireAnn were on earth did you find a 1831 census !!!

So far cannot find a Pheobe/Phoebe Mort on the 1841.....she is on the 1851 census married to a Yates.....see 1851 on the thread.

I would guess as the 1841 census does not give relationships that John Mort aged 75 is grandfather.

This is possibly John aged 4's birth reg. One of the witnesses in the 1860 wedding was a Melling and this one shows mmn = Melling

Thank you yes that his his marriage.
He married 4th february 1860,Mary Alldred and Edward Melling were witnesses
On the certificate it gives his address as MASON LANE ATHERTON if thats any help

I can't find him before 1861 and also can't see his marriage on FreeBMD.

Edit: Just found th marriage, I spelled Alldredge with one L. Noticed Martha's name is entered 3 times as Maria, Mary and Martha.

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to find THOMAS MORT and family on the 1841 and 1851 census but I am having little success as I do not have a lot of info.
Here is what I know
THOMAS MORT B1837 ATHERTON
He married in 1860 to Martha Alldred.
from his marriage certificate he was a cotton spinner and his fathers name was JOHN MORT and he was a cotton carder
At that time they are living in Atherton

Any help greatly appreciated
