I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to find a school
Some ancestors of mine were found to be in there in 1851
As they lived in Birmingham it seemed a long way eo go to school.
It was Bay Tree school in Aldridge,Walsall ,Staffordshire.
I would like to know what sort of school it was.
I have tried to find it but nothing is showing up.
I would be grateful for any help or advice.
Thankyou
Carol

Looking at the census image it doesn't seem to be an industrial school or reform school. It seems more like an ordinary private school. The children are described as scholars and not inmates.

Were the parents quite well off?

Kath.
