I know this is nearly a year old, but there is a lot of Waddington history on Ian Ormerod's site at

http://www.ormerod.uk.net

I have got Raynold marrying Margaret Parker in 1459 and son Thomas born in the same year. I think the date 1450 in the original post is an error - easily done with 0 and 9 being similar.

What are you using as your 'source'?

The 'Pedigree File' on the LDS site is utter nonsense

They have Alice Grimshaw as Raynold Waddington's (1441-1492)mother .........and her birth as 1514!!!!!!

I think the woman who submitted all the records had been on the bottle.............

where is Padham please?

jax

jax Report 10 Jun 2011 21:25

Well there are plenty of trees on ancestry all going back to 1418 so if they all have this person fathering a child when he was 9 they must be right??

jax

jax Report 10 Jun 2011 21:01

Not that I can help but did Raynold really father a child when he was 9?

Ye Gods! You're stuck at 1418? All I can say is "Lucky you!"

Hannah

Hannah Report 10 Jun 2011 20:16

Hello,

I've got myself completely i knots over my Waddington ancestors....... For anyone who links into the line of/knows anything about it I have as fathers...

Ralph Waddington 1530
Ralph Waddington 1510
Robert Waddington 1485 - 1549 = Margaret (?)
Thomas Waddington 1450 - 1530 = Alice Towneley
Raynold Waddington 1441 - 1492 (non-sensical) = Margaret Parker
Robert Waddington c1418 = Alice Grimshaw

At this point everything jumps around impossibly, whereby children are born after parents have died, etc.

If anyone has any insight into this family I would appreciate some info. They are all living in the Padiham area. At some point it may link in to the Stanley family through Alice Grimshaw, aka the Sheriffs of Anglesey and Lieutenants of Ireland but I'm totally lost at the moment.

Thanks
Hannah
