Can any kind soul help me with my Gt Grandfather Patrick?he was born 14/7/1837. Don't know which county but possibly around Omagh.
I have searched and searched to find anyone or any link to Patrick.
I have lots of detail after he signed up into the British Army at Omagh 13/7/1860 but all census and records just say Ireland as POB.
Any suggestions
Mike

Michael

Please could you share some of your info with us? When, who and where did he marry?

How do you know his exact DOB?

Could you post the census info that you have?

Thanks for your interest, yes he came over immediately after enlisting.
I have some of his army history and records(all give Ireland as place of birth)
He married Georgina Adkins out in Montreal while on service and they had five children born at different camps during his 22yrs service.
I have 1861 1871 1881 census and his death cert. dated 1884

Michael, the thing is that it doesn't help us to know that you have the censuses -- we just have to go find them for ourselves then if we want to see them.

We can't tell whether they say anything interesting uneless we see them! It sounds like they don't have any useful details, but can you at least say where he was living?

Do you have a record of the marriage in Montreal? No father's name for him, for instance?
