Hi everyone
I am looking for the birth of Emma Bailey born 1850-52 in Greywell Hampshire.
Father = John Bailey
Mother = Sarah Ann Sainsbury

I have searched a number of places but have not been able to confirm the mother of any Emma I have found with the surname Sainsbury.

Maybe they didn't registered their children. It wasn't compulsary to do so until 1875, before then it was down to the parish chappy to find the births and register them.

I have the parents, yes, its the birth of Emma I am looking for. Every Emma that I have found does not have her mother as Sainsbury.

Not all births were registered between 1837 and 1875 because there was no penalty at that time for not doing so, so you may not find a birth registration.

It looks like there wasn't a birth registration for Emma.

The registration district for Greywell at that time was Hartley Wintney. I can't see any birth for Emma under that registration district so I would guess that her birth was not registered.

I have birth certificates from Hampshire for the years 1849 to 1850 as Emma was baptised in 1851, but no certificate shows mothers maiden name as Sainsbury or previous married name if she married more than once.

Maybe she was not registered.
