Daniel Ritchie b.1799 Dorchester Dorset

Have quite a lot of info on Daniel's life, marriage in Ireland, from ab.1830 but he always states he was b. in Dorchester 1799 - who were his parents - was his father in the army/navy perhaps based in Dorchester at the time of his birth? How can I check this out. Where were their roots? His wife - Margaret Millar/er was poss b.in Ireland or in Scotland and many of their children on whom I have quite a lot of info were born in Ireland. The family travelled to Scotland 1839/41 and later moved to England/Manchester but it is the earlier years I am keen to fill in. |

well I can't find him in ether place - in fact I could only find one Ritchie in Oxfordshire - did notice that there are Ritchie's by the score in Scotland though |
