I have just received a death cert for him and it says there was an inquest held, how do i find out why he died. It was in 1898 London

Coroners reports for then would have been destroyed. Your best bet might be to try and find a newspaper report - try emailing the library closest to the POD.

suggestion re Probate Calendar deleted - he is not listed

Highly unlikely any inquest records now survive,
You may get lucky and find a local newspapers reported the inquest proceedings. You would need to find what publications were around then and contact them for archived info

Depends where he lived really, or if there was a family plot somewhere.

First port of call should be Greenwich Council website. This link should take you to the page about FH and burials
