Hello.

I am currently in the process of drawing up the families and their whereabouts that descend from James Field(s) b c 1814 Moulsoe Bucks.
If anyone has access to parish records perhaps his birth date/parents could be confirmed) James married Sarah Warren in 1836 and had children Sarah b 1838, Eliza b 1840, Henry b 1843, Charlotte b 1845, Frederick b 1847, Reuben b1850, James b 1852, Thomas b1858 and Louisa b 1860.
I have traced Reuben and Frederick through the census records and have found Henry in 1881 but I can't find him in 1861 or 1871. From the information in the 1881 census it would appear that he was possibly in the services as his first two children were born in Gosport, Hampshire and Shorecliffe, Kent then they returned to Northampton and had a third child and and Henry is listed as having no occupation and they had a lodger who was a soldiers wife.
I haven't been able to trace a marriage for Henry Field and Annie ? and I'm wondering if they didn't officially marry. The first two children James A and Frederick A could possibly have been born with their mothers surname which I believe maybe Archer as this name is used as a middle name. Can anyone help me out with this please?

I haven't been able to find another brother Thomas after 1861 although I did find a death in 1863 which was probably him and I haven't started on the females yet!!

Anyone out there with some ideas? :-S

Thank you everyone. Having the parents of James will open some doors as I should be able to trace his siblings as well.

I know we didn't get anywhere with the missing Henry but I appreciate everyone having a look. Many thanks.

Thank you for that. There were an awful lot of 'Fields' in what is a very small village so tracing their descendents shouldn't be too hard - that is if they don't disappear for years!! :-)

I would hazard a guess that Henry was in the army ("Pensioner in 1881) and since Annie was born in ireland the probability is that he was serving there and married there but you would need his military records and they are not on Ancestry as early as that
