I think Hannah is Johanna as my grandmother never new her date of birth and going by the two censuses no wonder she was confused. Yes what I am wanting to know is when she came to England. Thanks Jacqui

are you looking to find out more about her family or did you just hope to find info about when she came to England ?

The Irish censuses ... I can' t see her in 1911 ( though Johanna Courtney is certainly a co Kerry name but they are all older ) but could this be her and her family in 1901 ?

Residents of a house 7 in Gurteen (Ballynacourty, Kerry)

Courtney Johanna 1 Female Daughter R Catholic
Courtney Bridget 11 Female Daughter R Catholic
Courtney Kate 9 Female Daughter R Catholic
Courtney Patrick 38 Male Head of Family R Catholic
Courtney Thomas 7 Male Son R Catholic

Courtney Mary 35 Female Wife R Catholic

the censuses are here if you haven' t seen them

Many thanks for your replies. It's just when I was looking at Irish records I clicked onto to something which took me onto passenger lists and I even found a johanna courtney but I wasn't registered to look any further into details and now I can't remember how I came across it, only that it was on Irish records. Once again thanks anyway. Jacqui

My grandmother came to England from Ireland some time in the 1920's, I think her destination was Folkstone. She was born in 1901 in Co Kerry. Could someone with access to passenger lists please help. Her name was Johanna Courtney. With thanks Jacqui
