he did get marriied in 1927 to alice allman in the wirral but he had 5 kids
but my wifes mum was born 1925 she was the young is so dont know
if he had been married befor yours colin :-(

The best place to start is with sams marriage certificate, this should tell you his fathers name and his occupation. The witnesses maybe of help too??

I've been looking on census returns and it looks like Ann Jones, nee Bevan was actually born in 1859........ and I think I see her in 1881 and 1891 married to Samuel Jones. Looking at the 1901 census again Ann Jane Jones 1882 was born in Liverpool...... that's where I find Ann and Samuel Jones in 1881!!!!
