Perhaps you're mother had received wrong information about your fathers death Lucille. That first death that Flick found is the very best fit for a death for him.

If it were me I would send for that death cert from 2001 and see who the informant was.

He put down age 22 on his marriage certificate

What was his declared age on the marriage cert?

Have checked death record, but I don't think it is the right one. I remember my Mum telling me she'd heard he'd died in the late 80's or early 90's. He lived in Twickenham at the time.

Dates of birth aren't usually given on marriage certs Lucille, only ages. The age could easily be a year out and of course it would depend what time of year he was born and married as to whether he had had a birthday that year or not. Also, people often knocked a year off or added one on.

If the death that Flick has posted is the correct one and the informant knew his actual date of birth, he would have been just 23 on marriage. The informant at death may not have been certain of the actual date he was born though.

My guess is that the death is probably a good bet, as I can't find a birth of a John M Casey in 1929/1930 and you mentioned that he may have been born in Ireland.

Marriage certs have the person's declared age.....not the year of birth

Any thoughts about the death I suggested?

I believe the year of birth 1930 is correct, or at least that is the date given on his Marriage certificate.

You give 1930 as his birth year, but I assume that is a guess, based on his age when he married............

I am looking for John Micheal Casey. I know he was born in 1930 either in England or Ireland. His fathers name was Cornilieus Casey. He lived in Hanworth Middelsex in the 1950s & 60s. He married a Shirley Brewer in 1952 but divorced a few years latter. He had one daughter in 1953, me. My mother never spoke about him so I would like to find out more about him. So If anyone knows anything I would be greatfull
