Hi

I found the marriage of a couple of my ancestors on the igi and was wondering if any would be able to give me any more info that appears on the record. I know its before the BMD records started so i'm not expecting much. The marriage was between John Hall and Lydia Kay in Manchester on the 28th July 1834. Any more details would be brilliant

Thankyou

have you any idea where the marriage might have taken place please, perhaps from the baptism place of the eldest child

the record on the IGI is a submitted one so the batch cannot ( I don't think) be tied to a church

I'm not sure where in Manchester they married. All i've got is the record off familysearch.

Ann, for some reason it doesn't give me the option to delete or edit the other post. Don't know why that is.

A search of the LDS library catalog shows film # 1545607 is for:
Title Bishop's transcripts for Collegiate Church, Manchester, 1614-1851

That year's not done yet at http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/indexp.html
You could email the OPC for the Cathedral and ask for a transcription.
I'ld expect it to name his occup + witnesses, & maybe their home parishes if they're from outside of M/c - I expect that's it for extra info.

Thanks for taking the time to look for me. The baptism for John is gonna be a little difficult because when he appears on the census (his family are missing from 1851) he just puts down Lancashire as place of birth apart from the 1871 census when he shows his place of birth as Houghton Lancashire (there is something else written above Houghton what looks like Water but it looks like its been added on later). The problem i have is that i found a Hoghton near Blackburn in Lancashire and found a John Hall baptized to William and Elizabeth in Blackburn in 1813 and their place of abode was Hoghton. Then i noticed there was a Haughton near Denton on the outskirts of Manchester. There is another John Hall from this place that appears on the census who was born around the same time as mine. So it could be possible that he was from there.

Thanks again
