1841 look up for Thomas Hall b1824

I would like to find out the name of the father for Thomas Hall (b1824)
Trowbridge Wiltshire. I think he should be listed in the 1841 census.
I think his mother was Grace as she is listed in 1861 living with him and his family. A marriage for Grace and Thomas' father would be helpful too
Also know Thomas married Emily ( nee Shell I think).
Any advice where to look to find siblings for Thomas, as I think prior to 1837 records hard to find. I live in NZ so going down to any record office etc impossible.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Allison :-)

Just looking at census info I have

View Image
Registration district: Melksham
Sub-registration district: Trowbridge
ED, institution, or vessel: 1
Neighbors: View others on page
Household schedule number: 170
Household Members:
Name Age
Thomas Hall 34
Emily Hall 34
John Hall 15
Thomas Hall 12
William Hall 8
Harriet Hall 6
Frederick Hall 3
Grace Hall 78

I think Grace may have been Grangmother to Thomas giving her age.
So then I don't know who his parents were or Grandfather's name

http://history.wiltshire.gov.uk/heritage/

this is the Wiltshire Wills project which could help with something

the Wiltshire and Swindon history centre can be very helpful too , I believe they will do searches for reasonable fees

yes ... if you click on her name ... it says that ...

Name: Grace Hall
Age: 78
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1783
Relation: Grandmother, Grandma (Grandmother)
Gender: Female
Where born: Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England

it is possible he was the child of an unmarried daughter of Grace and Roger ... or of course of a ( married ) son ... who might have been deceased

For Emily's name have you found their marriage at freebmd ?

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

or got a birth certificate for one of their children ?

Great thanks,

So now we know Grandparents Roger and Grace. Grandkids Thomas and John. Now will have a hunt for record of parents and other siblings.
