Just found a relative James Mather born about 1867 in Worsley Lancashire. In 1901 census he is listed as married to Alice and his occupation is Station Master and living at Buckleys Cliviger Burnley. In the 1911 census Alice is not listed and he is now living on Rochdale Road Middleton where his occupation is Clerk Cotton Spinning Mill. I have searched for info on Cliviger and find that a Railway Accident took place 27th September 1907 in Cliviger Station where some wagons were unbuckled which lead to the death of the assistant Station Master and wonder if this is why James moved but can come up with nothing more. Can anybody out there throw any more light on the accident or the name of the Station Master of Cliviger in1907? :-D :-D |
