Member Since: August 2006 Posts: 2 Send Message	I am trying (unsuccessfully so far) to trace JULIA MASEYK born 1848 and married 1864 in Chinsurah India The complication is that on her MC of which I have a copy her father's name is given as Charles Maseyk and she sign herself as Julia Maseyk BUT there is an amendment to the marriage certificate dated about three months after the MC was issued and this give the father as Cavanagh Her married name was Embleton I cannot trace a birth certificate or death certificate I wonder if she was an orphan and/or adopted by Chas Maseyk. One rumour has it she was born in Shoreditch 1948. She was born in 1948 as on her MC her age is given as 16 - unless ...... Any help or guidance would be wonderful Gerry

	Someone else who just happens to have a thread containing the name Maseyk. It is the coincidental thread that chrissiex is referring to.

Member Since: August 2006 Posts: 2 Send Message	Thank you for your replies. I will admit I have searched high and low for a BC for Julia Maseyk to determine who her parents were. I feel sure that Charles Maseyk was indeed her father but the amendment to her MC giving a Cavanagh as her father tosses in a curve ball I am also trying to see if she had a sister called Ellen Maseyk. Again confirming this has not been proved I have the Mebleton details as Victoria Embleton was my grandmother Many thanks for looking at my post Gerry
