My grandfather Frank Hindle Daniel born1886 in Manchester only had one leg. Apparently as a baby he was taken out in his pram somewhere near to Manchester City's former home of Maine Road in Moss Side, Manchester. He was taken out of his pram to crawl round and one leg was cut. The wound was infected and became gangrenous and his left leg was amputated above the knee. |
