Could anyone tell me what the abbrieviation L.L.D. stands for when written on a parish baptism document? |

Thanks Roy. It clearly states L.L.D. I'm thinking it must have a reference to the child that was baptised. Like P.B. means Private Baptism. I don't think Bachelor of Laws would refer to the child. |

I see that L.E. means local elder of a church and L.P. means local preacher. So perhaps L.L.D. has a reference to the person who did the baptism rather than the child: local l.... d.....?????? |

The baptism was performed in Horne, Surrey parish church. |

It is a qualification held by the Rector... So nothing to do with the baptism. |

LLD is Latin for Bachelor Of Divinity a qualification which would have been held by the person conducting the baptism. |
