I have found this informaton on ancestry...and think it to be my gt grans brother ,but there is no age attatched or next of kin.....

There is an Ernest Smith, wife Harriett nee Johnson, address 18 Bigland Street, Ordsall Lane Salford, born c1883.

It also states that he was previously in the Lancashire Fusileers reg no. 8730. There may be some info from what remains of the regiment.

Thank you Chris & Eileen....I never did manage to find a marriage for him,which was frustrating ,as he was the only male left in the smith family of seventeen children....and the one left to produce a heir....as all other male smiths died young.....
