Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying, my broadband went down.

Thanks for the info. My F-I-L remembers her as his school teacher from 1950 - 55. He then found out she was the great aunt of his wife. He said she never married but it is possible that she kept her maiden name for teaching. He also says that she lived with her brother in the early 1960's so maybe she divorced.

Thanks again

Cheryl :-)

Thanks Vera and Helen.
It is the middle name Catherine I am more interested in. FIL says there was a family member called Kathleen ( or he thinks). I and others have searched to no avail. I did however find that my husbands gr grandad had a sister Florence Catherine and this is I think the person my FIL meant. Many people used their middle name. She was working as a teacher in Peterborough in the 1950's and taught my FIL. A few years later he met the MIL and as she was raised by her dad she did not know the other side of her family.
My FIL met them once when he went to ask permission to marry MIL. He said that there was a relative called 'Kathleen' living with MIL's grandad but did not know why she was there. He remembered her from school.

I think that the Florence Catherine is our lady, although the family does originally come from the St Ives area, which isn't too far from St Neots. I hope the above waffle explains why and thanks for all your help

I'll read that again Cheryl and inwardly digest! I am familiar with the St Neots area since 1970. St Ives is about 12 miles from St Neots.
