Mary Jessop from Wakefield coroners warrant

I may be wrong, but somewhere at the back of my mind I think a coroners warrant was issued to allow a burial to go ahead before the inquest was held. Probably where the death was unexpected, but there don“t appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

I'll do that. It's the first time i've seen "coroners warrant" written on the actual burial register.
What's even more strange is that her husband Wilfred Jessop remarried a couple of months later.

Local newspapers perhaps?

Try contacting the library local to that area and asking them if they would look through the newspapers for that time.

Hi

I recently found one of my relatives burial's in Thornes which is near Wakefield in Yorkshire. Here name is Mary Jessop and she was burried on the 16th of January 1861. On her burial it mentions coroners warrant. I know the death certificate would be my next point of call but i was wondering if there would be any other information about it anywhere.
