I am not sure at what point my tree and that one join but it must be somewhere early on

My Marmaduke's (1834) parents were John (1807) and Betty - proved by birth cert of Duke's next sister and John's will

John's parents I am 95% sure were George (1796) and Hannah (who rejoiced in the name Hannah Popplewell) - one of their daughters (from baptism records and MI) was Hannah Popplewell Mallison

that last one GB I think would be my Marmaduke's (b 1834) cousin as he had a son james, a brother James and an uncle James and probably gives me the source to look for James & Grace's marriage

GB - THANK you you have confirmed something I have wondered about for a few years but never able to check actual registers. I have a copy of Markmadukes marriage cert to Sarah but it is a modern handwritten copy & just says Parish church - I have often wondered what the actual church was called. I wonder why they bothered to go to Halifax as both lived all their lives in Todmorden.

Todmorden is one of those places where records are split as it varied between Lancs & Yorks - half using the churches on the Yorks side and the rest in Rochdale

Marmaduke sounds so formal but in his father-in-law's will he is described as Duke Mallison which made him seem more human somehow
