Many thanks to all.

The death puts him born c1876/1877. If you look for births around that time, there's only your Frederick.

Mabel arrived in New York in 1918 and arrived England in 1929. As she died in Canada in 1963 she must have been on holiday in 1929.

I have Nellie as arriving Quebec 1923, and again the 1929 trip to England.

They were jet setters of the time!

Best wishes

Liz

This 1914 death must be the one as a son was born in the same district:

The death certificate won't necessarily give wife's name unless she was the one who registered the death. It didn't have wife's name on 2 of my gt. grandfather's death certificates.

Do you have the passenger list to Canada? It's just that the youngest stepchild then was Nellie Chittenden, aged 17 in 1929 so born 1912.
I see they're going to join Mabel's brother William Parker in Toronto.

Edit: Oops, just noticed you said youngest child died 1927.

Only way to find out, Liz, is getting that death cert. At age 37 he was unlikely to have been called up for the war.

Their last child, Frederick James was born in March 1914 (died 1927), so I might have been on the wrong track with 1918.

Thanks

Frederick George Chittenden was born 1876 in Maidstone Kent. He married Mabel King Parker 31/3/1907.

I have the 1891 census records for him.

In 1911 he was living with Mabel and three children in Notting Hill.

I have found in other trees that he died 10/3/1918 but no other details. I felt this could be a war death but haven't been able to find anything.

His wife remarried in June 1918 and went to live in Canada.

Can better eyes than mine find what happened to Frederick?

Many thanks

Liz
