Find Ancestors

Hi,

I am looking for the wedding of a William Sykes to a lady called Dorothy, well thats what it says on the 1851 Census !!!!!
William was born around 1825, and Dorothy around 1826, both in Woodhouse, Leicestershire.
It looks like a boy Thomas was born about 1846, i know that doesn't always mean a thing !!!!!
I have looked at BMD, Family Search etc already.

Any help would be great.

Have you got the family on subsequent censuses ?

They had 3 children according to 1851 census

Thomas born 1846

Hannah born 1849

Eliza born 1851

My suggestion would be purchase on of their birth certificates to first get the maiden name of Dorothy. This will give you a better platform for searching for the marriage of their parents William and Dorothy

Just in case you are looking for them on the 1861 mistranscribed under Lykes....

Are you aware there are 2 trees on Ancestry with William and Dorothy on ?
According to these trees they had 10 children.
