Looking for info on Mary Nixon born 1886 in Newbiggin-in-Teesdale Co Durham emigrated to Australia (Somewhere?) in 1918, she became Mary Simpson and was still alive in 1932 and living somewhere in Aus. Any info would be great. Thanks Cyndi

Well maybe they were writing to each other because that is the only NIXON-SIMPSON marriage that fits. Or it was a whirlwind romance!
And the 1935 death notice (NLA Trove newspaper site) seems to confirm - age fits, assuming Joseph H was known as Henry Joseph...
The Sydney Morning Herald, Tuesday 19 November 1935 SIMPSON -November 18, 1935, at her residence, Shap, Hill-street, Cabramatta, Mary, beloved wife of the late Henry Joseph Simpson and loved mother of May (Mrs W. Jarvis), Olive (Mrs E. O. Sparks), Joseph, Jack and Tom, aged 49 years.
She was buried at the Methodist section in New Liverpool.

At the time of his first enlistment in Feb 1916 aged 30 yrs and 9 months, he was a farmer and they were living at Boggabri NSW. He was discharged as medically unfit. He re-enlisted in May 1918 aged 33 and was a shunter on the NSW govt railway. At this time the children were aged 7 (Mary), 6 (Olive), Joseph (3) and Jack (baby). His date of birth is shown as April 13th, 1885. Sadly he died while serving, of bronchial pneumonia, on 29th November 1918. He was buried at Etaples Military Cemetery, France. Mary and the children later moved to 'Kaluga', Denham St, Bondi by Dec 1922, and then by 1924 to 7 Perrett St, Rozelle NSW.

Thank You all so much for your replies regarding Mary Nixon/Simpson. I am so greatful to you all for your help! the info given is my late Great Aunt Mary I hope to find some of her living relations as my Mother was named after her and i have a photo of Mary she was the double of my late Mother.
