This is my Great Aunts (Elizabeth Ann Bell) husband. They got married in Chorlton in Manchester in 1915, the family tale is that she died whilst pregnant due to stress having heard that her husband had died during the war, he was apparently a driver during WW1. There is a death record for a baby named Walter Lear shortly before Elizabeth died. I have since found that she had a heart condition which contributed to her death.
I have now discovered that (trusting I have the right person) he survived the war and went on to marry a lady called Maud Brownlow. she died in 1973 whilst he died in 1962, they are both buried together in Southern Cemetery Manchester. I would love to hear from anyone who may be related and especially from anyone who may have information on Walter Birkby Lears birth. It has been suggested that he may have been born illigitimately to a mother named Birkby and then taken his fathers name.

I would be grateful for any information either to justify or correct my details.
Many thanks.
