Help in Australia please!

Hi all,

I'm looking for some information about a family member that moved over to Australia roughly in 1854.

He was born in Leicester in c1832. I know that when he died in 1914 in Victoria he was quite a succesful man - he owned properties and he had his own business (something to do with cattle).

The problem is, there just doesn't seem to be much information about him and I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to look as there are no censuses and only one voting list that he appears on!

Can anyone give me some advice on where to look or maybe have access to information that they could look through please?

George Moore. He wasn't married and had no children

Jamie, do you mean George Moore died 1914 Victoria? Have you tried getting a death cert? as death certs have a lot of detail

Yes I have a death cert, but I'm looking more for information about him when he died. The cert isn't very specific when it comes to his profession!

Found this on Ancestry...................According to the manifest he is born in Leicester(?) & married to Ann 24 yrs no children. Engaged by Mr Thirvan(?) of Cowies Creek, wages £60 for 6 months with rations.
