Find Ancestors

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to find out the parents of Joseph George Jordan Templeman, 1855c. I can't find him on any of the census's when he was a child, only when he was married and had children. I know he was born in Marylebone, London, but most of his children were born in St Pancras, London so he may have moved several times.
I also know that his father was dead when Joseph got married in 1879.

I would appreciate your help, and if anyone could give me advice on how to find this kind of information in the future, that would be great.

Neither father is named on the marriage cert.....both bride and groom just gave 'dead' as the info about their fathers.

You need his birth cert...........assuming that the birth record is for the same person as the one who married................no mention of the name Jordan on the marriage cert.......or on his death reg'n

Thanks for all the information so far. I think it's a bit of a mystery ....... the fact that we can't find him on any census before he got married? Is the only way I can find the name of his parents, on his birth certificate? Or are you able to find out the name of his parents some other way?
