I'm trying to trace the death date of the above. Have traced on all census to/inc 1911 (in Hackney, London). His wife, Bertha Brooks, died in 1940 in Hackney.

There are a few Hackney 'possibles' but none come back to birth date.

He would have been 39 at the start of WW1 - was this too old for conscription? Also, I don't have Wills, etc subscriptions.

Can anyone help please?

Joan

Was Bertha a "widow" or "wife" when she died in 1940?

39 was not too old for conscription or to enlist for WWI.

Have you tried looking here for his death here?

When was thier last child born?

Apologies for delay in responding. Having input problem this end.

I'll try CWGC Fan. On 1911 they have no children.

There seems to be a delay after submitting and actually appearing on screen so apologies for the 'muddle'
