Clementia married a Charles Hall in 1895 and they had my grandfather Charles Frederick Hall in 1896. This is the last mention of Clementia in any records. By 1902 Charles Hall was in another relationship with a Elizabeth Spurdens and they had a daughter Elizabeth Lilian Hall in 1902. My mother, was bridesmaid at her wedding. I think my grandfather was fostered out to a family called Cossons(1901 census) but was back with the family by the 1911 census. But what happened to Clementia? I can find no death record for her. I'm not even sure that my great grandfather and Elizabeth spurdens were actially married. Did Clementia go into some sort of institution and get 'lost'?Is it possible to find information on divorces?I know my grandfather had a very poor relationship with his 'mother' Elizabeth. HELP! :-S |

Interesting.....immigration year 1900 but I think the birth pace says Italy. If this is her it could be that the enumerator wrote the same birth place as her husband? |

Thank You Thank you, everyone for responding! Gets me out of a hole that I've been stuck in! I can move on from here with this information. Some of it I had but Ginny's post for America is stunning news. She had such an unusual first name Clementia, that it couldn't possibly be anyone else, could it?Also Chris Ho for the 1901 census result. And yes Chris the 1911 census was the one I meant. I will go back to births and see if I can find another one for my grandfather in 1896 other than the one with Clementia as his mother, now that I have better info to follow up on. You're wonderful people and have made my day!! Pauline |
