Im trying to find info on my g/grandfather Thomas White born in Essex (Tibury ?) Married1901 to Ellen b1881 Manchester Children Ellen(nell) 1902,Rose 1904 Ivy 1906 (my nan) Thomas 1909 all born in Essex. Thomas Snr died in 1909 when his son was a small baby family rumour is that he drowned saving some children my nans B/cert states he was a dock labourer cant find anything in local news archive the family lived in Chadwell st Mary in 1911 census. |

Thank you Potty but I think the age may be the thing Family is sure he was born 1879 that would only make him 31 in 1910 not 37 as you found |

Have you any of the children's birth certs to confirm Ellen's maiden name as Wright? His marriage cert may give his age (although it may just say "full age". It should also give his father's name and occupation which will help to find him on the census. |

Maybe his age was transcribed from the cert onto the index incorrectly 7 and 1 look simular? |

Thanks for your help my nans (ivy b1906) B/cert confirms Ellens maiden name and they lived in Chadwell st Mary at the time dont have a definite marriage cert were they married in Essex or Manchester ? Every thing happend between cenus dates. |
