DOES ANYONE HAVE WILLIAM PORTH IN THEIR TREE PLEASE HE IS MY GRANDAD I NEVER KNEW BUT I HAVE FOUND OUT HE LIVED IN ANTILL ROAD, STAPLEFORD,NOTTINGHAM . G C BALL REGISTERED HIS DEATH IN FEBRUARY 1959. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS ANY INFIRMATION

you can trace him backwards with certs for the child who is your parent, then his marriage cert to Nan and then his birth and find him on any census his birth ties up with.

There are very few Porths showing in births or in 1911 census.
You need to buy that marriage certificate, if it is the correct one, for names of Fathers. Is there any possibility that he changed his name, or is a refugee from another country? At the moment we are doing little better than guessing.
