Sarah FAIRWEATHER b. Escrick, Yorks.

Sarah was born in Escrick 1826 and died in Scarborough in 1904. She had an illegitimate son, Francis, in 1846.

Does anyone know anything about her parents? Her death certificate cites William as father. In the 1841 census William, aged 30, and Sarah, 10, are living with Elizabeth who is 50 and so possibly William's mother (ages in the 1841 census are to nearest 5 yrs).

Does anyone have any more info?

Looks like first Sarah (1821) died and they named another daughter after her in 1826.

These are all children of John and Elizabeth - ( no William )

Mike: Your post at 22:52 is interesting. Possible new lead for me. Thanks.

I have plenty of info post 1841. It's her ancestry, not her descendents, I'm needing to find out about.

Reference to William as her father could mean that her mother re-married perhaps.

The William in 1841 is married to Martha in 1851. Have you got that marriage certificate for the name of his Father?
She could be the illegitimate or legitimate child of a sibling of William living with him and her grandmother Elizabeth.
The death certificate naming her Father as William, after 1901, is only as good as what the informant believes.
