Hi Kerrin, there is a family tree of Dudley John Gall in Ancestry.

He was married to Nea Narelle Rudd in 1943 at Hurstville, New South Wales. He was a police constable. No names of his parents or their children.

His wife, Nae died in 1987 at Narellan, New South Wales.

Kerrin,

The correct spelling, although it could have been mistranscribed from old documents, is Villeneuve. There was a state school listed with private photos on Ancestry. This might be where your Dudley went. It is a tiny place on the map, only a small town and very little information on it.

Electoral rolls show Dudley and Nea living Police Station, Division of Darling Downs, subdivision of Wilcannia, N.S.W. in 1949; and then

Nea Narelle Gall living Hume Highway, Narellen, N.S.W. in 1954, home duties. No mention of Dudley.

Kerrin,

I found a few things to link up Dudley to the following couple:

John Frederick Gall b. 1884/C6178 Queensland to James Gall and Elizabeth Dudley Bavister www.qld.gov.au

Aust. Marriage Index - John Frederick Gall m. 20/10/1914 Elizabeth Jane Ross in Queensland Reg. No. B015776, Page 8912

The following is from Trove:

The Courier Mail (Brisbane, Qld) - 14/3/1946: GALL - The relatives and friends of Mr. J.F. Gall, Mr. & Mrs W Jull, Mr. & Mrs. D.J. Gall & families, Mr. & Mrs. B.C. Hail, Miss Maisie Gall, Mr. R. Gall, Miss Joyce Gall and Master Eric Gall, are invited to attend the funeral of his beloved wife, their mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, Elizabeth Jane Gall of Woodford, to move from Alex Gow's Funeral Chapel, Petrie Bight this (Thursday) afternoon at 4.30 o'clock for the Crematorium, Mt. Thompson. ALEX GOW (Funeral Director).

Elizabeth Jane Gall - 1946/B5703, Queensland parents Angus Ross and Jessie Sarah Robson

The Courier Mail, Brisbane Qld. Tues. 23/7/1946: The relatives of Mr. John Frederick GALL, late of Woodford are respectfully invited to attend his funeral to move from the Funeral Parlour, Mellor Street, on Wed. afternoon at 3 o'clock to the Gympie Cemetery, JACK CORNES, Funeral Director, Gympie.

John Frederick Gall 1946/C3397 Queensland BDM

Dudley John was living at Stoney Creek, Woodford (Helen's post), so I would say they are his parents. Nothing at Stoney Creek, Woodford as per the aerial map, looks like it is a huge property. Electoral Rolls show John and Elizabeth living in this area for many years. Last listed address for 1943 shows John Frederick Gall, fettler, Woodford, Division of Wide Bay, subdivision of Woodford, Qld and Elizabeth, home duties.

The marriage cert. is your best bet. Good luck. The relatives' from the first funeral notice might give up some more clues.

Cheers.

That is the 1943 N.S.W. Certificate for Dudley and Nea. Sorry should have made that clearer. Getting tired now.
