Gail

If you go to the immigration section and type in the exact date of arrival and place, it brings up only records for that state and country

But that said he wasnt on them so maybe he didnt arrive on the date you gave in your first post?

Gail Report 2 Jul 2011 16:10

Hi ginny

Hi Gail,

For Victorian immigration go to

prov.vic.gov.au

then go to online indexes and you can search for ships arriving

It is possible he was a stowaway or that he was working on a ship and 'jumped ship' in Melbourne...
