Marriage for Raven/White and Gordon/Carr

Keeley1973 Report 2 Jul 2011 18:27

Please can anyone offer any assistance on either of these two marriages without having first names to go by? I have tried every avenue available to me and am not finding either.

The children of the Raven/White partnership are Edward b. 1913, George A b. 1916, Ivy M b. 1918, Ellen M b. 1920, Alfred R b. 1922, Leonard J b. 1923 and Stanley C b. 1926 - all in Edmonton

The children of Gordon/Carr are all born in Morpeth (Ashington) Northumberland. They are Louisa, Evelyn, Leslie, Alice, Edna and Elizabeth - all born between about 1920 and 1930 ish. I am sure I have heard somewhere in the distant past that the mother may have been 'Louisa' or at least had that as a middle name.

Leonard Raven married one of the Gordon sisters but I cannot post the name here as she is still living (I am happy to oblige if you PM me)

Thanks for any help and sorry for lack of info!

AS the births were Edmonton this is possible, but you need a birth cert for one of the children. I assume you have tried Freebmd?

Your best bet would be to get the marriage cert of Leonard Raven to the Gordon sister that would then give Leonard's father's name and occupation which would then help with your search

Yes had tried freebmd . Perhaps I hadn't looked back for enough as I thought I had the earliest child being 1913. I will check the other children from the 1911 census out, perhaps they were born Islington - also more difficult that early without mothers maiden name. Thanks :-)
