There is a mis-transcription. Eliza and her husband are Walker not Hern, married 4 years, 1 child who sadly has died.

If Eliza was his daughter and Thomas was his son in law then perhaps this is their marriage

Holbeck where they are living is in the Hunslet Registration district. So perhaps the grandchildren, if there were any, would be called 'Walker'
