George Challice married Lois Cook 1872

My great-aunt Lois Cook (born Kensworth, Herts 1851) married George Challice in Kensington in 1872 according to FreeBMD. I have found her as a widow with her 6 children in 1891, 1901 and 1911 but can't find her and George in 1881 or George in 1851 or 1861. There is a possible George Challice in 1871 in Paddington, a horse keeper living with his cab proprietor father William Challice (widower 54), but otherwise George is elusive! I've tried the obvious Challice, Chalice and Challis but have got nowhere.
George and Lois's children were William Thomas b 1873 Kensington or Notting Hill, Charles b c1877 London, Rosa J b Kensington 1881, died 1914, Herbert George b 1884 Kensington, Maud Sarah b c1887 Luton, Beds (no ref on FreeBMD), died 1932 and Minnie Beatrice b 1890 Luton. Charles also vanishes and I can't find him on any censuses except 1891 when he is aged 13 and living with his family in Luton.
If anyone can find George, Lois or Charles on the missing censuses I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Hi Ruth - thanks - brilliant. It never occurred to me to try Challia! Must be the right family, though there's an extra child, Ada, who I didn't know about. No I haven't got the marriage certificate - it's on my "to get" list!
I'm trying to trace Lois's family in the hopes that I might eventually find a living descendant who might have some family photos - I have no idea what my grandfather, Lois's brother Albert, looked like! My dad was the product of a 2nd marriage, born when Albert was 68, so I never knew him (born Kensworth, Herts 1849, died Eastbourne 1939.)
cheers, Linda

A tip - try searching with 1st names only, especially if you are fortunate to have an unusual name to look for, as here.
