I am getting in a right muddle with how are what to me. For example my 5xGreat Grandfather his brother would be my 6xGreat Uncle what would his daughter and her children be to me? Anyone know how to work this out?

HI,

You find your first direct ancestor in common, which would be your 6 x great grandparent..

She (the brother's daughter)is their grandchild, you are their 6 x great grand child.

As 'grandchildren', you are first cousins, but because of the generations gap, you are first cousins six times removed (as you are six generations apart).

Her children are your first cousins five times removed.
