CRIPES_A_MIGHTY Report 5 Jul 2011 12:25

Hi Folks,

Could someone please look up a George & Mary Walkington in the 1841 census.?
They should have a son also named George born 1840....Liverpool, Lancaster, England.

George Walkington was born 1808 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.
Wife Mary was born 1811 in Liverpool, Lancaster, England.
George being a "Block maker"
Son: George born 1940....Liverpool, Lancaster, England.

Its just my membership has just run out and I have only just found this family link. I believe George had always been married to Alice..but it appears not...so looking to find that missing info.

Mary dies in 1849 and George then marries Mary's sister Alice in 1851. So the 1841 census is the only one that should show George & Mary with son George.

I am only after the 1841 census...no hopefully it shouldn't take up anyones time to much.

Much appreciated if anyone replies..Cheers!
Paul

If you are feeling generous with your time & help.
I would also like to know where Alice is in 1841.....She had married a Alexander Forbes in 1839..so should also be in the 1841 census..
Alice was born in Liverpool c1820. No idea about Alexander.

Only if you feel up to it.

Many thanks
Paul

Mary & Alice's madien name was originally WILSON.

Mary married a Peter Thompson in 1833 I think...and Alice married Alexander Forbes.

I believe Peter died as on Mary's & Georges daughters birth cert it says her name was (late Thompson).

I do not know what happned to Alexander Forbes...but Alice then married George as he had children George 1840 & daughter Ann 1842.

Mary died in 1849 hence George then marries Mary's sister Alice in 1851.

George & Mary's daughter, Ann born 1842 was the grandmother of Frederick Fleet...the lookout aboard the Titanic who called out "ICEBERG RIGHT AHEAD!!" :-)

Peter Wilson mentioned in Thelma's post is my Grt Grt Grandfather.

Many thanks to all who posted here....really helps add a little more meat to the bones!
