A google search for Martlash only brings up this thread and your other thread about Margaret Donaldson, so I think it must be a mistranscription in the 1871.

Could anyone find Elizabeth in 41 census please trying to find out if that was her name or her married name I have her in 1871 aged 41 living with Margaret McAlpine as a visitor
trying to find out if their is a connection between the two women
