Death
1Q1974 Harold William STONER, Aylesbury 6a 1118, dob 28/8/1909

I'm trying to identify his parents - but haven't found him in 1911.

The 1911 census has HAROLD STONER 1909 in Brighton and in Steyning but I have other births to match them. The same goes for a Harry Reginald STONER, 1910 Horsham.

Any ideas?

The problem is that his mother could have married or remarried before the 1911 census was taken

True. I haven't found any STONER marriages in the Horsham RD during the window, or relevant deaths. But he may have been illegitimate.
