Hello

I have found two entries in marriage records which state! Marriage bonds and allegations
for the year 16th July 1749 , it states intended marriage, between Joseph Lyon and Margaret
Cotthem , but it also says joeph Lyon was her spouse, they had many children together and the name cotthem was passed down the male family line.

So does this mean they were , or wern't married?

Would be grateful for anyone's advice

Many thanks

Caz :-)
