SUCCESS I think .... here are 3 of them birth years very closely matching my George and Helen !! Helen 1890, George 1883 and Alexander 1911 Seems George travelled first, closely followed by Helen and Alexander.

Susan - I found this record today. I'll assume FEFESHIRE is Fifeshire. There is no image with this record (had to laugh!! ) Birth year close that of Alexander (son of George and Helen Simpson).
Will search for other "Simpsons" on same ship.

Hi Flick and Susan.
Flick - yes I have done that. Nobody is actually following that exact line down. I am in the fact the only one with Helen Berry born C1891 in South Leith, Edinburgh.
Susan - Helen's middle was Fulton - so I am not sure if that would be the right person in those passenger listings.
It would then beg the question as to what happened to Alexander born 1910. George worked on the railways as a shunter.
I also found a George Simpson travelling to New York (arrived 1926) and it noted on the passenger listing wife Helen. That too could be a possibility (but no children noted).
It's a bit of a mystery really.
There is someone on Ancestry with Georges mother (Cecilia Cant) and her husband Alexander Young (George was born out of wedlock to Cecilia and father noted as George Simpson also). They also have other names that I am researching, but the tree seems to have been removed from tyhe site -even though the searches bring up their information (very odd in itself).
Thanks so much for helping out - I will keep trying!
Regards, Eric

Have you checked 'search trees' to see if anyone else on GR is researching any of these names?

Hi there, I am trying to find what happened to: Helen Fulton Berry - born 1891 in South Leith, Edinburgh to William Berry and Helen Smith.
Also recorded as Ellen Berry, Helen Berry married George Simpson on 01 Apr 1910 in Burntisland Fife. George is the connection to my family line (born George Cant).
I have located them on the 1911 Census living in Thornton, Fife - one son noted (Alexander born 1910).
I have been unsuccessful in trying to find death records for either Helen Berry or George Simpson and wondered if anyone would be able to assist.
Nor have I been able to find any marriage, death record for their son Alexander. Looking at other birth records, it is quite possible that George D Simpson, born 1911 in Thornton may also be a connection.
Any descendants of Alexander may well hold a key to my gran (she was the adopted sister of George Simpson/Cant)
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
Regards, Eric Metung, Victoria Australia
