hi mommylonglegs :)

the connection is, sarah is her daughter. i dont think im going to find mary`s, i have a funny feeling the record may have been lost, i know there was a landslide on a church in the isle of wight, which destroyed many records, its probably just my luck it was the same church

Yes I believe that they saw and photographed the original document. The Indexing Project (Batch) Number, System Origin and Source Film Number show that.

Please may I make an observation. You say she was Groves who married into Mabey family. This entry gives her parents with the surname Mayby.

Sorry.

Family Search is the site for Church Of Jesus Christ Latterday Saints aka Mormons.

They pay particular attention to family history and are responsible for the transcription and sharing of a heck of a lot of info.

They must have seen either the original documents and filmed them or the info has been provided by someone doing research.

I'll take a look and tell you but short of transcription errors for instance in the UK we might see a mistake in a place name they have transcribed but then I wouldn't know all the little places in the US if I was transcribing their docs.

I rely on their info a lot but as with everything I haven't actually looked at myself I always allow a margin for error.
